If you’re a strong technician with excellent communication, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to drive improvements across systems and processes, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

Hands-On Accounting & Daily Operations

You won’t be sitting back reviewing spreadsheets—you’ll be directly involved in every element of our accounting engine:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting and transaction coding across multiple entities.
  • Manage weekly billing processes for all payer types: private pay, LTC insurance, Medicaid, VA, and other medical claims.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including aging, reporting, collections, and claim follow-up.
  • Oversee accounts payable using Ramp and ensure accurate, timely vendor payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
  • Reconcile WellSky, KanTime, and other billing systems with QuickBooks Online.
  • Record, deposit, and correctly classify checks and incoming payments.
  • Manage and improve our Paychex payroll integration to strengthen cost accounting by service line and location.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead cash-to-accrual conversions for internal management reporting.
  • Support budget-to-actual reporting and help leadership monitor financial performance.
  • Maintain chart of accounts integrity and ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Partner with our CPA on audits, tax planning, and financial strategy.

Medical Billing Oversight

  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across Medicaid, VA, insurance, and private-pay billing.
  • Troubleshoot claim denials and guide the billing team on best practices.
  • Manage overseas team members who support medical billing and collections.
  • Identify root causes for claim issues and implement long-term solutions.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead a small remote accounting and billing support team, including international staff.
  • Work closely with the COO and CEO on financial visibility, reporting, and operational alignment.
  • Support Credentialing oversight to ensure licenses, enrollments, and certifications remain current.
  • Partner with IT support staff and vendors to ensure strong systems performance and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operations, recruiting, and scheduling leadership to improve financial processes.

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Strengthen internal controls and financial workflows company-wide.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual tasks.
  • Support property accounting for company-owned office buildings, including rent tracking, CAM reconciliation, and capital improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across software tools, automations, and reporting accuracy.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You enjoy doing the accounting work yourself while also leading others.
  • You communicate clearly, follow through consistently, and can hold others accountable.
  • You’re an Ideal Team Player—humble, hungry, and smart.
  • You thrive in a growing organization where processes evolve and improve.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years managing or supervising a team.
