We are seeking an experienced Controller who can take full ownership of our accounting function. This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident managing the full accounting cycle, producing accurate financials, and working independently in a remote environment.

What You Will Do

Own the Accounting Function

• Lead and manage the full month-end close process
• Handle full-cycle accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including profit and loss and balance sheet
• Book accruals and adjusting journal entries

Maintain Accurate Financial Records

• Prepare and maintain detailed, audit-ready workpapers
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and aligned with U.S. GAAP

Manage Systems and Reporting

• Oversee accounting operations within QuickBooks Online
• Maintain organized and consistent financial reporting processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency within accounting workflows

What You Bring

Required Experience

• Public accounting experience required
• Experience working with U.S.-based companies
• Proven experience owning the month-end close process
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting
• Experience preparing and maintaining workpapers

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage financial data with accuracy and consistency

Work Style

• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Clear English communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or home care
